In the quiet early morning hours of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the life of 18-year-old Jai’Kailah Nykema Richardson was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. A female of Black ethnicity, Richardson was inside a residence on Picardy Drive in Sumter, South Carolina, when the shooting occurred at approximately 5:36 a.m. First responders arrived at the scene to find the young woman deceased.
