In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Oklahoma City, a confrontation on Northwest Expressway turned fatal, ending the life of 47-year-old Jeffrey Gill. An American Indian/Alaskan Native man, Gill was reportedly walking in the roadway in the 3100 block of the expressway when he was approached by a driver. What began as a confrontation escalated, and Gill was shot multiple times.
Police were dispatched to the scene just after 2 a.m.
on November 12, 2025, where they found Gill in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, but the injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead at 3:37 a.m. The incident marked the city's 60th homicide of the year.
The man who allegedly shot Gill, identified as 24-year-old Darius Williams, returned to the scene and spoke with officers. Following this interaction, Williams was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a complaint of second-degree murder. The investigation into the circumstances that led to the deadly encounter is ongoing.
