On the evening of October 27, 2025, in a home in Danielson, Connecticut, the life of 39-year-old Caucasian male Andrew Michael Olson was tragically cut short. He was watching the movie "Toy Story" with a 12-year-old boy when the night took a grim turn. Authorities were called to a residence on Pratt Road in the Dayville section of Killingly around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Olson at the front door with a single gunshot wound to his chest.
He was immediately transported to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect in the shooting was identified as 65-year-old Michelle F. Yeagher. When police located her at the scene, she appeared to be highly intoxicated. Yeagher gave conflicting accounts of the events, at one point claiming she shot Olson in self-defense. However, the child witness provided a different and harrowing account, stating that Yeagher had entered the room and fired the weapon. Investigators later recovered a 9mm Smith & Wesson registered to Yeagher at the scene.
Following an evaluation at a local hospital, Michelle Yeagher was arrested and taken into custody. She faces multiple charges, including murder, carrying a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment, and risk of injury to a child. A judge set her bond at $1 million, and she is scheduled for a court appearance on December 11. While the relationship between Olson and Yeagher has not been publicly detailed by law enforcement, authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public as the Eastern District Major Crime Squad continues its investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
