Evan Zion Alema, 18, male, was shot and killed just after midnight on October 5, 2025, in a quiet cul-de-sac on Meadow Vista Court in northeast Bakersfield. Officers arrived around 12:55 a.m. to find him suffering from gunshot wounds; lifesaving efforts were not enough, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:17 a.m. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified him, and police emphasized that the violence unfolded steps from sleeping homes, shattering the stillness of the early-morni ...
