In the rugged terrain of the Hualapai Mountains, not far from Kingman, Arizona, a young man's life was abruptly cut short in what authorities have described as a tragic accident. Donald Anthony Stickrath Jr., a 19-year-old Caucasian male, died on October 13, 2025, from a gunshot wound. The incident occurred at a campground situated off Flag Mine Road, a remote area roughly 120 miles from Las Vegas.
Deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene that morning
following reports of an accidental shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered two men inside a tent attempting to render aid to Stickrath, who was grievously injured. Despite their efforts and the subsequent intervention of medical personnel, lifesaving measures proved unsuccessful. Stickrath was pronounced dead at the scene.
The subsequent investigation by detectives from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office led to the preliminary conclusion that the shooting was accidental. It was determined that Stickrath had been handling a handgun when the weapon discharged, inflicting the fatal wound upon himself.
