Police were called around 5:30 a.m. to the parking lot at 6740 San Pedro Avenue, where they found two men with gunshot wounds; one died at the scene and the other, identified as Guillermo Serrano Jr., 45, died shortly thereafter, with the Bexar County Medical Examiner ruling his death a
homicide caused by gunfire. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission opened an administrative investigation into the incident because it began at a licensed bar.
Investigators said the violence began as a fight that escalated into gunfire outside the venue. A second victim, 31-year-old Carlos Claros, also died from his injuries; both deaths were classified as homicides. Public notices and obituaries later confirmed the identity and age of the man as Guillermo Javier Serrano Jr., 45.
San Antonio police have named a suspect in the case: Samuel Adrian Barron, 28, who is wanted on a charge of capital murder of multiple persons in connection with the June 8 shooting that killed Guillermo Serrano Jr., 45, and Carlos Claros, 31. Authorities released surveillance images describing the suspect’s clothing and said they believe he fled to Mexico on the day of the shooting; investigators have asked the public for tips through the SAPD Homicide Office. As of the most recent reporting, no arrests had been announced.
