In the summer of 2017, the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was struck by a particularly brutal crime that left the community in shock. On June 14, 50-year-old Leo Molzhon, a man experiencing homelessness, was found dead under the stark concrete expanse of an overpass at Interstate 40 and 12th Street. The discovery was made more horrific by the fact that his body had been set on fire, a detail that spoke to the callousness of the act.
