In the early morning hours of July 12, 2025, a violent altercation in Chesterfield County, Virginia, ended the life of Jessica D. Wooten, a 40-year-old Black woman from Richmond. The incident occurred at approximately 2:53 a.m. at the Beechtree Townhomes located in the 4000 block of Belcourse Road. When Chesterfield County Police arrived at the scene, they discovered Wooten unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
