On the evening of July 14, 2025, in Kent, Washington, Gary Lee Winston, a 34-year-old Black/African American male, was fatally shot at an apartment complex on the 22400 block of Benson Road SE. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 46-year-old Migna Elizabeth Kennebrew, unfolded around 8:37 p.m. when police received calls reporting an argument and the sound of gunshots. Witnesses at the scene also reported seeing a man lying on the ground outside.
