In the early hours of June 15, 2022, the life of 32-year-old Carlos Garcia, a Hispanic male from Lynnwood, Washington, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on the East Hill of Kent. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:24 a.m. near the 12900 block of Southeast 275th Street, Kent Police officers discovered Garcia lying unresponsive on the ground with a significant wound to his chest.
