In the late summer evening of August 18, 2025, the life of 31-year-old Kasim Demitry Holmes of Lynchburg, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Just before 9 p.m., Lynchburg Police and Fire Departments responded to a call of a malicious wounding in the 1100 block of Rivermont Avenue. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Holmes, who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
