In a tragic sequence of events on May 24, 2025, Tayler Gennalee Maraj, a 24-year-old Black female, lost her life in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. The incident began to unfold in broad daylight at approximately 11:40 a.m. outside a Spinx convenience store on Northeast Main Street in Mauldin, South Carolina.
