Eric Morgan, a 31-year-old male, Black/African American, was found late on the night of September 7, 2025, after Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Mentor Avenue. Officers discovered Eric Morgan unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound; Dallas Fire-Rescue transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The case was opened as a homicide under number 129310-2025 as detectives began piecing together what unfolded on that South Dallas street.
