Shy’Parius Dupree, a 32-year-old Black transgender man, was shot in Memphis during the weekend of May 17–18, 2025, and died from his injuries shortly afterward. Memphis Police officers were dispatched around 12:10 a.m. on May 18 to the area of Range Line Road near James Road in the Frayser neighborhood, where Dupree was found critically wounded and transported to a hospital; he did not survive.
