Joshlyn Carzell Dyson, a 22-year-old man, was discovered by police with a gunshot wound. p.m. in the 2100 block of Millington Road. Authorities believe the incident began as a robbery, which then escalated to the fatal shooting. The sudden violence left a family grieving and a community searching for answers. The loss was deeply felt by his parents, Chekitta Davis, Carzell Dyson, and Chandra Dyson, as well as his sisters and a brother.
Within days of the shooting, the Memphis Police Department announced a significant development in the case. A 17-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with the death of Joshlyn Dyson. The teenage suspect faces serious charges, including first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, and the possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
