On July 9, 2003, Tommy Gamble, aged 46, was fatally shot in Lorain, Ohio, while walking near the intersection of Long Avenue and West 17th Street. Gamble was well known for walking late at night, and on this particular occasion, he was last seen alive at approximately 1:00 AM in the 600 block of West 14th Street.
