Death by Force

On June 26, 2025, Patricia Hayes Britt, a 61-year-old female who was White/Caucasian, was shot and killed at the Pantry West convenience store inside the South of the Border complex near Highway 301. Deputies were dispatched around 2:47 p.m.; the Dillon County coroner identified Britt, from the Blenheim area of Marlboro County, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause and manner of death.
