Edwin Cooper, 16, a Black male, was killed on the evening of June 29, 2025, when gunfire erupted at the Kings Crossing Apartments on North Brooks Street in Kingstree, South Carolina. Police were dispatched at approximately 8:16 p.m. and found four people shot; one victim died at the scene while others were taken to a hospital, where a second victim later died. The Williamsburg County Coroner identified Cooper and 18-year-old Mycheal Edwards-Wallace as the two who lost their lives.
