A quiet evening in Kingstree, South Carolina, turned tragic on June 29, 2025, when gunfire erupted at the Kings Crossing Apartments on North Brooks Street. In the aftermath of the violence, 16-year-old Edwin Cooper, a male student at Kingstree High School, was found among the victims. He was rushed from the scene but ultimately succumbed to his injuries, his life cut short in a sudden and brutal act.
