On the night of May 23, 2025, Cleveland police rushed toward East 126th Street and Forest Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert around 8:50 p.m. As officers closed in, they heard more gunfire. A car crept through the intersection with windows so dark they couldn't see inside; they shattered the glass and found 40-year-old Jenay Davis, a male, slumped in the driver's seat with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS took 40-year-old Black male Jenay Davis to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
