Robert Boone, a 37-year-old Black/African American man, was shot in the early morning hours of May 31, 2025, in west Toledo and later died at a nearby hospital. Police were called a little after 2 a.m. to Phillips Avenue near the Polish Ostrich bar, where they found Boone suffering from at least one gunshot wound; he was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
