Darnell Mitchell, a 38-year-old African American male from Toledo, OH, tragically passed away on February 12, 2016. He was fatally shot at the Classic Lounge in Toledo around 1:40 a.m. The incident occurred when Charles Johnson, who was 36 years old at the time, opened fire inside the bar. An off-duty police officer providing security at the bar responded to the gunshots and pursued Johnson, ultimately shooting and disabling him. Johnson was later arrested and taken into custody.
