In the pre-dawn dark of September 30, 2025, 18-year-old male Jowel Wallace was found dead inside a residence on the 100 block of Jefferson Cove in Elgin, Texas, after officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to a report of a gunshot victim. The stillness of the apartment stood in sharp contrast to the urgency of the call, and by the time police arrived, Jowel Wallace, 18, could not be revived.
