Death by Force

Thomas Jay Ruger, 30, male, White/Caucasian, was shot and killed on the evening of September 24, 2025, in Cross Hill, South Carolina. Deputies with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 6:45 p.m. to a residence on Pineland Shores Circle near Lake Greenwood, where they found the victim deceased at the scene. The county coroner, Patti Canupp, later identified the victim as Thomas Jay Ruger and determined he died from a single gunshot wound.
