On July 5, 2025, in east Toledo, 20-year-old Amir Thomas-Clair, a Black male, was found inside a crashed vehicle on the 1700 block of Nevada Avenue after gunfire shattered the night around 12:20 a.m. Officers discovered that Amir Thomas-Clair had been shot at least once; medics rushed him to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where the 20-year-old male died.
