Railroad Detective James Moran, aged 57, was accidentally shot and killed in Toledo, Ohio, on September 7, 1902. The incident occurred around 1:00 am when another man showed Moran a revolver, leading to an inadvertent discharge of the firearm. Moran was immediately taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
