Damariante Dillingham, a 30-year-old Black/African American man, was shot during a family gathering on the evening of July 11, 2025, on the 800 block of State Street in Lima, Ohio. Officers responding around 7:40 p.m. found him wounded; he was taken to Mercy Health–St. Rita’s Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses as they began piecing together how a celebration had turned into a fatal confrontation.
