In the summer of 2025, a grim discovery was made in a Reading, Pennsylvania home that brought a violent end to a young man's life to light. Guerby Aspervil, a 22-year-old male, was found deceased in a bedroom on Buttonwood Street on August 21st. His body was in a state of decomposition when authorities arrived, a discovery prompted by witnesses who had reported a foul odor emanating from the residence. An autopsy later confirmed the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was officially ruled a homicide.
The investigation into Aspervil's death quickly focused on his live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Alexis Williams. Following the discovery of Aspervil's body, Williams allegedly fled the area. Law enforcement was able to track her vehicle as it traveled through Georgia and Florida. She was later located and met with investigators in York, Pennsylvania, where she provided her account of the events that led to Aspervil's death.
According to Williams, she and Aspervil had been involved in an argument during which he had physically assaulted her. She claimed that after the altercation, she fell asleep and awoke to find Aspervil on the floor. It was at this point, she stated, that she shot him in the head before fleeing their shared home.
Following her statement to the police, Alexis Williams was taken into custody and charged with homicide. She was subsequently incarcerated at the Berks County Jail, where she was held without bail. A preliminary hearing in her case was scheduled for September 12, 2025.
