In the early morning hours of October 1, 2025, in York, Pennsylvania, a violent altercation tragically cut short the life of 31-year-old Dominick Skinner. The male victim, a resident of Dallastown, was at a house in the 600 block of East Princess Street when the incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. An argument with an acquaintance escalated, shattering the morning's quiet with the sound of gunfire.
A neighbor's home security system captured the chilling aftermath, recording the sound
of eleven gunshots over a five-minute period. Following the barrage of shots, Skinner was seen on the video walking into the frame and calling for help. Emergency services were alerted, and he was rushed to WellSpan York Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff to save him, Dominick Skinner succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10 a.m., about two hours after the shooting. The York County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity and ruled his death a homicide, marking the 12th in the county for the year.
Police quickly identified a suspect in the fatal shooting, 24-year-old Romanus Myers V. Investigators stated that Myers and Skinner knew each other and assured the public that there was no ongoing danger. Myers was taken into custody and was scheduled to be arraigned at York County Prison in connection with the death. The investigation into the shooting was reported to be continuing.
