Wilmer Lewis Jones, 47, a Black/African American male from Greensboro, North Carolina, was shot just after 5 p.m. on July 29, 2025, in the 1500 block of Hamilton Hills Drive near Alamance Church Road. Officers arrived around 5:14–5:15 p.m. to find Wilmer Lewis Jones, 47, male, suffering from gunshot wounds; he was rushed to a local hospital, where Wilmer Lewis Jones, 47, male, later died of his injuries.
