In the early hours of a Thursday morning in Oklahoma City, a dispute inside a pickup truck parked in the 3600 block of Parkview Avenue turned fatal. On August 21, 2025, police responded to a call and discovered the body of 35-year-old Omero Quinonez, a Hispanic male, in the bed of the truck. He had been shot to death. The quiet residential street, located just a block west of Woodson Park, became the scene of the city's 47th homicide of the year.
Investigators believe that Quinonez and
another man, 25-year-old Tyler Waterman, were inside the vehicle when an argument broke out. The disagreement escalated, leading Waterman to allegedly shoot and kill Quinonez. After the shooting, Waterman fled the scene, leaving Quinonez behind in the truck. The initial call to the police was simply about a body found in a truck, leading to the grim discovery.
The investigation quickly pointed towards Waterman as the suspect. Later that same day, law enforcement located him at a residence in the nearby city of Moore. He was arrested without incident and subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a complaint of murder.
