On June 24, 2025, at the Upper Onondaga Park Pool in Syracuse, New York, 15-year-old Black male A'Dhon Thomas was struck by a single gunshot outside the pool's fencing in the early afternoon, around 2 p.m. First responders found A'Dhon Thomas with a wound to the abdomen and rushed the 15-year-old to Upstate University Hospital, where A'Dhon Thomas died despite lifesaving efforts.
