On a warm Labor Day evening in the Bronx, 24-year-old Jamari Henry was with a group of men on Allerton Avenue when a car slowed down beside them. It was around 7:30 p.m. on September 1, 2025, and what had been a peaceful holiday gathering was shattered by the sudden eruption of gunfire.
