On a warm Labor Day evening in the Bronx, 24-year-old Jamari Henry was with a group of men on Allerton Avenue when a car slowed down beside them. It was around 7:30 p.m. on September 1, 2025, and what had been a peaceful holiday gathering was shattered by the sudden eruption of gunfire. Multiple shooters emerged from the vehicle and opened fire on the group. The street, usually bustling with neighborhood life, became a scene of chaos and panic. When the shooting stopped, five men had been hit.
