In a tragic turn of events stemming from a father's quest for justice for his daughter, 44-year-old Kcoree Warren, an African American male, was shot and killed at his residence in Ferguson, Missouri, on July 8, 2025. The series of events leading to his death began in March 2025, when Warren reported to police that his 15-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by Lavor Harmon.
Following the report and subsequent charges of statutory rape and sodomy filed against Harmon in May, Warren became a key witness in the case.
The situation escalated when, on May 29, Lavor Harmon's sister, Lavonda Harmon, allegedly visited Warren's home and offered him $12,000 to remain silent and drop the charges against her brother. Warren refused the bribe. Approximately six weeks later, on the afternoon of July 8, a man later identified as Andrew Klaus, an associate of the Harmon family, came to Warren's home on Bayview Drive and fatally shot him through his front door. Neighbors recalled hearing the gunshots and seeing Warren's children crying outside in the aftermath of the attack.
The intricate and violent plot did not end with Warren's death. Hours after the shooting, Andrew Klaus was also found murdered in St. Louis. A white Kia, which had been seen leaving the scene of Warren's homicide, was discovered burned nearby. Investigators believe Klaus was killed by the same individuals who orchestrated Warren's murder, possibly to cover up their involvement.
A multi-agency investigation involving the FBI led to a St. Louis County grand jury indicting three men in October 2025 for their roles in the deaths of both Kcoree Warren and Andrew Klaus. Lavor Harmon, the original rape suspect, along with his uncle, Anthony L. Young, and Young's son, Anthony D. Young, were charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence. Lavor Harmon still faces the original sexual assault charges. Lavonda Harmon was arrested and charged with tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution for her alleged role in the bribe attempt and was later released on a $100,000 cash bond.
