In the southern part of Las Vegas, on the evening of Sunday, September 28, 2025, the life of 27-year-old Dionte Tarlini was tragically cut short. A Black male known to his friends as "Kid Earl," Tarlini was discovered inside an apartment on Dean Martin Drive with multiple gunshot wounds. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to the scene near West Cactus Avenue and Interstate 15 at approximately 9:36 p.m.
Despite the efforts of the responding officers to render aid, Tarlini was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner's office later officially ruled his death a homicide.
The news of Tarlini's violent death sent ripples of grief through his community. Described as a kind, loving, sweet, and humble person, he was remembered for his gentle face and patient smile. Friends recalled that he never sought trouble and was a cherished figure who brought joy to those around him. Originally from South Carolina, Tarlini had grown up in Las Vegas, where he developed a passion for skateboarding, reportedly earning sponsorships, before embarking on a career as a rap artist known as Kidd Earl. His passing has left a profound sense of loss among his friends, family, and the wider community who are now grappling with the void left by his absence.
As of early October 2025, the investigation into Dionte Tarlini's murder remains ongoing. Homicide detectives responded to the scene on the night of the incident, but authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or announced any arrests in connection with the shooting. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward and contact their homicide detectives or Crime Stoppers. In the wake of his death, a fundraiser was organized to assist his family with funeral expenses. Funeral services were scheduled for mid-October, allowing loved ones to gather and pay their respects to a life that was taken far too soon.
