In the predawn hours of a Wednesday in Tylertown, Mississippi, the quiet of St. Paul Road was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On July 30, 2025, 31-year-old Dustin Charles Carr, a Black male, was found lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. A 911 call was placed at approximately 2:24 a.m., and when deputies and investigators arrived, they discovered Carr, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The county coroner later established the time of death to be around 2:40 a.m.
