On a tragic day in Monroe, Louisiana, the life of 20-year-old Coby Elmore Jr., a Black male, was cut short. On May 24, 2025, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Roy Drive where a vehicle had crashed into an apartment complex. Inside the car, deputies discovered Elmore suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead.
