Abdul Ahad, a 24-year-old male of Bangladeshi descent, was shot and killed on the night of May 25, 2025, at Jayne Park on the Detroit–Hamtramck border, a city park also known as Jayne Field. The confrontation left three other people injured in a cascade of violence that included two gunshot victims, a stabbing, and a hit-and-run. Police later emphasized that the park, though adjacent to Hamtramck, is part of Detroit’s system, and they appealed for tips as the investigation unfolded.
