In the early hours of Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, the city of Baltimore was jarred by an act of violence that claimed the lives of two people. Devin Thompson, a 27-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the West Baltimore neighborhood of Upton. The incident unfolded at approximately 1:23 a.m. in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, a commercial area that was suddenly transformed into a crime scene.
