Lonnie Bond Jr. Missing Person Case

Lonnie Wayne Bond Jr., a 1-year-old boy, was last seen on April 19, 1985, in Wilseyville, California, alongside his parents, Lonnie Bond Sr. and Brenda O'Connor. Their disappearance was connected to the infamous serial killers Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, who had been on a killing spree in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The family had been living next door to Lake and Ng, with tensions rising between them due to Lake’s inappropriate behavior towards Brenda. On April 19, Lonnie Bond Sr. confronted Lake about his behavior, and soon after, all three family members vanished.

The bodies of Lonnie Bond Sr. and a family friend, Scott Stapley, were found later in a mass grave near Lake's property, while Brenda O'Connor and Lonnie Bond Jr. were never recovered. It is believed that both Brenda and Lonnie Jr. were murdered by Lake and Ng, though their remains were not definitively identified among the 40 pounds of human bones uncovered on the killers' property. Lake and Ng were known for their horrific crimes, torturing and murdering numerous victims, including men, women, and children.

Investigations revealed that Lake and Ng had systematically lured, tortured, and killed their victims, and the Bond family was among those who tragically fell victim to their brutality. Despite Leonard Lake committing suicide shortly after being caught, Charles Ng was apprehended and eventually convicted of multiple murders, though the full extent of their crimes remains difficult to quantify.
