On **April 12, 1985**, 22-year-old Michael Sean Carroll was last seen in Milpitas, California, where he and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Kathleen Elizabeth Allen, were staying in a motel. At approximately 10 p.m., Carroll assured Allen he needed to step out and would return by morning—but he never did.
