On a tragic Monday evening in Greenwood, Mississippi, the life of 15-year-old Jakevion Manuel was cut short by a senseless act of violence. The Black/African American teenager, a student at Greenwood High School, was walking with a fellow student on the 400 block of East McLaurin Street on September 15, 2025, when the ordinary evening turned into a nightmare.
