Lafayette Anthony Collaso, 30, a Black male from Minneapolis, was shot and killed on the evening of July 15, 2025, on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South in the Elliot Park neighborhood. First officers found him with life-threatening wounds on the sidewalk; despite immediate aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later identified him and ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the chest.
