In the early hours of a Friday in the summer of 2025, the life of 23-year-old Lavar Steeles was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Southwest Baltimore. A Black male, Steeles was the victim of an incident that unfolded in the 1500 block of West Fayette Street. The city of Baltimore was left to grapple with the aftermath of another young life lost to gun violence.
