In the summer of 2025, the community of Rockville, Maryland, was unsettled by the tragic death of Vincent De Porres Young, a 38-year-old man. On the morning of Saturday, June 14, 2025, officers from both the Rockville City Police and the Montgomery County Police Department were dispatched to an apartment building in the 600 block of Blandford Street to conduct a welfare check.
The call was placed at approximately 7:51 a.m., and upon their arrival and entry into one of the apartments, they made a grim discovery.
Inside his residence, law enforcement found Vincent De Porres Young with what were described as apparent gunshot wounds. Despite any potential life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death was immediately initiated by the Major Crimes Division of the Montgomery County Department of Police. To determine the exact cause and manner of his death, an autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. The results of this examination led to the official ruling of his death as a homicide.
