On the morning of June 14, 2025, 38-year-old Black Vincent De Porres Young II, a male from Rockville, was discovered inside an apartment on the 600 block of Blandford Street after officers responded to a welfare check just before 8 a.m. He had apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled the manner of death a homicide.
