On the evening of July 24, 2025, in New Orleans’ Central City, a man was gunned down near the busy corridor of Louisiana Avenue and South Claiborne. Paramedics and police converged on the scene, but the victim could not be saved. In the days that followed, the Orleans Parish Coroner identified him as Joseph Kuykendall, 46, male, his name joining the city’s mid-summer roll call of lives cut short by gunfire.
