Damien Kendrick, 42, a Black/African American male, was shot on the evening of September 26, 2025, in New Orleans’ Seventh Ward. Around 6:15 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of North Claiborne Avenue, where a confrontation inside a business spilled into gunfire. He was found with at least one gunshot wound, rushed to a hospital, and later died, the crime unfolding along a busy commercial corridor as commuters and neighborhood regulars moved past the neon and traffic.
