John Michael Gilmore Jr., aged 21, was shot and killed on June 28, 2017, in New Orleans. The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Carrollton Avenue. He succumbed to his injuries a few days later, on July 1, 2017. Gilmore was a native of New Orleans and was well-loved by his family and friends. He was remembered as a beloved son of John M. Gilmore Sr. and Karen M. Gilmore. The homicide remains part of a broader issue of gun violence affecting the community, and investigations are ongoing.
