Tanijay D. Peterson-Colon, 20, a male, Black/African American, was shot and killed in the South Chicago neighborhood in the early morning darkness of July 19, 2025. Officers responding just before dawn were called to the 8200 block of South Houston Avenue; they found Tanijay D. Peterson-Colon with a gunshot wound to the neck, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
