In the early morning hours of July 3, 2025, the life of 21-year-old Jabari Cannon, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident unfolded at approximately 2:48 a.m. in the 1400 block of Thames Street, a waterfront area in the city's Fells Point neighborhood.
A Central District patrol officer was the first to respond to the scene after hearing the sound of gunfire.
Upon arrival, the officer discovered Cannon unresponsive, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Immediate medical assistance was rendered, with officers performing CPR until paramedics arrived. Cannon was then rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Jabari Cannon succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case, urging anyone with information to come forward. To date, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made or the identification of any suspects in connection with the shooting. The circumstances that led to the deadly encounter remain under investigation.
