Summary based on 6 sources
Quantae Arthur was 33 years old when his body was found on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, inside a vacant home in the 3600 block of Belair Road in East Baltimore. The medical examiner found that he had suffered multiple injuries to the body, and the Baltimore Sun's homicide database lists the cause of death as blunt force. The Baltimore Police Department investigated, and the Sun's database lists the death as a homicide.

Eastern District officers went to the vacant house at about 9:50 a.m. that Tuesday after a report of a body inside. They found a person "obviously deceased," according to Baltimore Witness, and the remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to be identified. On January 18, police announced that the victim was Arthur and that his death had been ruled a homicide.

By then, Arthur had been missing for weeks. Baltimore County police had posted an alert in December 2023 saying he was last seen on November 20, 2023, and that "he had been traveling from Baltimore City to the Essex area." WJZ noted that Arthur would have turned 33 on Christmas Day 2023 and wrote that "it is unclear if Arthur even made it to his 33rd birthday." A county police spokesman told the station he was unsure of Arthur's living circumstances at the time he disappeared. How long his body had been in the house has not been made public, which suggests that the time between his disappearance and his death may be a central question for detectives.

His obituary names him as Quantae Arthur Sr. and says he was born on December 25, 1990, to Darnetta Arthur and the late Dadisi Sippline. It says simply that "he departed this life suddenly." A reward of up to $8,000 has been offered for information about his death.

Belair Road is one of the main routes through Northeast and East Baltimore, carrying U.S. Route 1 from the city toward Baltimore County. Like many corridors on the east side, it has stretches where vacant houses stand among occupied homes and small businesses, and empty buildings can hide what happens inside them for a long time.

Homicides in Baltimore began falling steeply in 2023 and 2024, reaching the lowest totals in decades, yet many killings from those years remain unsolved.

No arrest, criminal charge or court case connected to the death of Quantae Arthur could be found in news archives or public records. More than two years later, there is no public sign that anyone has been held responsible. Anyone who saw Arthur after November 20, 2023, who knew where he was staying or who he was with, or who noticed activity around the vacant house on Belair Road between late November 2023 and January 2024 may know something important. Even a small detail, such as a name overheard, a vehicle seen nearby or a conversation remembered, can help detectives move a case forward.
